Alcohol Recovery Equipment Reduce Costs And Increase Efficiency

Alcohol recovery equipment helps reduce costs and increase efficiency

Driven by the national "dual carbon" goals and the green manufacturing transformation of the industry, many domestic tobacco enterprises have taken the lead in introducing intelligent alcohol recovery equipment, significantly reducing alcohol consumption and waste emissions during the production process, and achieving a dual improvement in economic and environmental benefits.

The tobacco industry requires a large amount of alcohol (ethanol) as a solvent or cleaning agent in processes such as filament making and filter rod forming. The traditional single-use model is not only costly but also prone to causing excessive emissions of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). The new type of alcohol recovery equipment adopts molecular sieve adsorption + distillation purification technology, which can recover and purify waste alcohol to over 99% and directly reuse it in the production line, achieving closed-loop utilization.

The equipment of a certain tobacco group in Guangxi can recover over 500 tons of alcohol annually, reducing procurement costs by more than 8 million yuan. At the same time, it can lower VOCs emissions by 90%, meeting the requirements of the latest "Comprehensive Management Plan for Volatile Organic Compounds in Key Industries".

At present, leading tobacco enterprises have established a standardized system for alcohol recycling and plan to promote it throughout the industry. Experts predict that with the improvement of the carbon trading market, the carbon reduction indicators brought by alcohol recycling may become a new source of income for tobacco enterprises, further promoting the development of the industry towards low-carbonization and circularization.
The tobacco industry is gradually achieving efficient recovery and recycling of alcohol through technological innovation and policy guidance, moving towards a greener and more sustainable future while ensuring production quality.
